Situation

Lausanne is a city on Lake Geneva in Switzerland. It houses the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee, as well as the Olympic Museum and the Olympic Park. The city stretches over a drop of more than 500 meters, from the port of Ouchy (374 m) to Chalet-à-Gobet (873 m), passing through the city center (495 m), the airport of Lausanne-Blécherette (600 m) and the Bois de Sauvabelin (640 m). The city center is built on three hills: the Cité, the Bourg and Saint-Laurent, linked together mainly by the Grand-Pont and the Bessières bridge.
